Elmar Frey Sextett
Comprised of well-known musicians in the Swiss jazz scene, the Elmar Frey Sextett enlarges the jazz landscape with something which is rare both locally and abroad: A band with several horns dedicated to timeless, grooving jazz with a bluesy touch. Full wind sounds, strong soloists and a hard-swinging rhythm section.

Organ-x
The classic 'organ trio' line-up: guitar, hammond organ and drums, has always had a special place in jazz history. The tradition reaches way back and was formed by shining stars such as Grant Green, Mel Rhyne, Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith and Larry Young. After being ousted by the synthesizers in the seventies, the hammond organ has recently enjoyed a revival. Musicians such as Barbara Dennerlein, Larry Goldings, John Abercrombie and John McLaughlin have successfully combined this line-up with modern elements of jazz.
Roberto Bossard and Elmar Frey are currently among the most active representatives of the Swiss jazz scene. In fall 1998 they also decided to revive the hammond boom in Switzerland. In 2006 the young talent Marcel Thomi came on board, breathing new life into the band both by his playing and his composing. By combining a great understanding of the hard bop tradition together with contemporary music forms, the group ORGAN-X has successfully created its own unique sound and a repertoire consisting mostly of original compositions.
